‘Change my seat’ says ‘miffed’ Shivpal Yadav as he writes to UP Assembly Speaker

Lucknow: The miffed uncle of Samajwadi Party Chief Akhilesh Yadav, Shivpal Yadav has written a letter to Uttar Pradesh state assembly speaker for changing his seat. Shivpal Yadav had won on a Samajwadi Party ticket from Jaswantnagar assembly seat of Etawah district and was currently sitting with the SP MLAs. However, now citing his seniority, Shivpal Yadav has asked assembly speaker to change his seat.

Shivpal Yadav who is also the chief of Pragatisheel Samajwadi Party (Lohia) has been upset with SP Chief and his nephew Akhilesh Yadav after he wasn’t called for the meeting of SP MLAs after the 2022 up assembly poll debacle. Though Shivpal has his out political outfit (PSPL), technically he is Samajwadi Party MLA as he had won on a SP ticket.

Earlier on Monday, Shivpal went to meet Azam Khan at his Lucknow residence. The closed door meeting between the two leaders lasted over an hour. Azam Khan who had recently come out of jail after Supreme Court granted his interim bail, took the oath as the member of the assembly but skipped attending the budget session due to health reasons. Azam Khan’s son Abdullah had however went to attend the budget session of the UP assembly.

Earlier after meeting Azam Khan in Sitapur jail, Shivpal Yadav had stated that SP leadership was ignoring a senior leader like Azam Khan and also that party was not doing much for a leader like Azam Khan. Shivpal Yadav had even said that Mulayam Sing Yadav and Akhilesh Yadav should have raised the issue of Azam Khan with PM Narendra Modi.
