Greater Noida/Lucknow: The road to the construction of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s dream project International Film City is now completely clear. On Tuesday, producer Boney Kapoor’s company Bayview Projects LLP submitted the layout plan of the film city to the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA). Now YEIDA will review this plan and after the necessary approval, the construction work will be formally started. It is noteworthy that this film city is being developed on 1000 acres in Sector-21 of Yamuna Expressway. In the first phase, work will start on 230 acres of land, the estimated cost of which is ₹ 1510 crores.
Fast pace of action
Yamuna Authority (Yida) OSD Shailendra Bhatia said that on Tuesday, in the presence of various officials, film producer and Boney Kapoor, who has acquired the responsibility of building the film city, has submitted the layout plan related to the entire project on behalf of his company. Now the authority will observe and test this entire layout plan, after which they will be given the necessary approval to start the work. CEO Arun Veer Singh has clarified that the construction work will be done completely as per the agreement, no changes will be accepted without approval. Separate NOC will have to be taken for approvals like parking, landscaping and gardening.
Concession agreement has been done on 27th June
He informed that the letter of award has been issued last year to Bayview Projects LLP, selected as the highest bidder by proposing the highest 18 percent gross revenue share. The concession agreement has also been signed between YIDA and concessionaire representative Boney Kapoor on 27 June 2024, according to which, the right of way of the site has been transferred to the concessionaire on 27 February 2025. Under this project, the master plan of Film City was approved on 30 January 2025.
Construction work will be done in three phases
The construction of the project will be completed in three phases in the next eight years. In the first phase, construction work will be done in 230 acres, while in future, expansion will be done on the remaining 770 acres of land under Phase-2 and Phase-3. Main structures like film studio, sound stage, post production unit and film institute will be ready in the first 155 acres. Apart from this, a business center with retail, office and entertainment complex will be built on 75 acres, but it will start only when the film related infrastructure is completed. Rajiv Arora, GM of Bayview Projects LLP, said that after all the necessary approvals, the construction work will start immediately.

The foundation stone of the project will be laid by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The proposed International Film City in Sector 21 is a historic step towards making Uttar Pradesh a center of national and international film production. Through this, not only employment generation and investment attraction will happen, but the promotion of the cultural heritage of the state will also increase. For film lovers and youth, this project will not only be a source of employment, but will prove to be a platform to give wings to dreams. This project will create about 5 lakh direct and indirect job opportunities and will give new heights to the economy of UP.
